Residency

2008 Bursary: NOËMI LAKMAIER

Noëmi Lakmaier was the first recipient of the Adam Reynolds Memorial Bursary.

During her residency at Camden Arts Centre she created a giant ball covered in hundreds of shoes.

At the final open studio event she attached herself to the ball and invited viewers to push the ball, taking control away from her. By using her own body in the artwork, she intensifies the relationship between view and object and challenges her fears of relinquishing control.

During the course of her 12 week residency, Noemi was also able to contribute to the Camden Arts Centre's talks and events programme.

The residency at Camden Arts Centre was generously supported by Angela Nikolakopoulou.
